Transport Facilities in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi is the up and coming capital city of the United Arab Emirates. It’s still growing strong and it’s easy to see why. With a Vision 2030 city plan featuring an integrated tram network, a key Capital City District (including Embassies, National government buildings and residential space for over 300,000 people.), increased landscaped public spaces such as parks and pedestrian friendly routes; and cultural activities such as the Abu Dhabi Louvre and Guggenheim museums.

Made up of a series of islands, the city of Abu Dhabi is spread out with either a car or taxi being necessary. However, with low petrol prices in the region, taxis are relatively cheap in comparison to other capital cities around the world. As part of the Metro project, a Monorail will also run and will include 15 two-coach trains with a service that will involve five-minute intervals. In addition to the tram routes, a national railway will also be introduced in the coming years that will serve part of Abu Dhabi and allow fast connections to other cities in the UAE and the Middle East.

Once just a desert city, the growing metropolis is also easy to get to with many international airlines flying to Abu Dhabi International airport. Etihad is the national airline of the United Arab Emirates and their base is in Abu Dhabi, with a new, modern airport terminal under development too. Check out Etihad reviews for more information. Dubai is just an hour’s drive so for friends and family who also live in the region so it’s very easy to visit.

With so much development in the UAE capital, transport in Abu Dhabi is becoming very modern and integrated and will eventually connect to Dubai. Abu Dhabi is a very up and coming place to live.
